Mandy and Andy updates:

YES it is true I never update my blog, so today I thought I would take some of my free time and get on it.

Where should I begin? So much has happened since I last updated this lonely little thing. I will just start with the recent and start off by saying life is good! Andy and I are so blessed. I find myself constantly (not nearly enough) down on my knees thanking my Heavenly Father for all that He has done for us as we have started our new lives together. I am so very eternally grateful... grateful in so many ways.
Anyways with that said here is the newest little updates on us and our lives.

Mandy Updates:

  • I am no longer pursuing school and for now I am taking a little break. Hard at first? Yes, but it has given me sometime to think about what I want to do with my life. I have realized that I have so many options and I would have never realized it if I was still in school. I was always one tracked minded on nursing and too busy to stop and think that maybe nursing is not what I really want to do. As for now I will leave it at this, I am so excited for my future career options that I have been pondering on.
  • I am still working two jobs, but to be honest I kind of like it and it keeps me busy.  I am currently working at Nuskin in the mornings and as a CNA at night. As weird as it is, I am a firm believer that working keeps me from going crazy haha.
  • I spend my free time cooking new recipes, decorating our apartment, catching up with friends and family, reading books and training for a marathon.
  • Yes I am running a marathon! I am stoked and oh so nervous!! I have been training/preparing my body since January 1st and i cannot explain how healthy eating and exercise has changed my life. I always thought I was healthy and in shape, but no I was not and I am still working on it but I truly feel like a new woman.

Andy Updates:

  • Oh I miss his darling face and lately it seems like the only time I see him is at 3:00 am, when I wake up and finally realize he is home from his long hours of studying. It is then I snuggle up to him and sometimes hope he will wake up just so I can talk to him about everything and even nothing. I just miss him and I cant wait for finals to be OVER!! This hardly seeing each other on the weekdays is killing me!
  • Yeah that’s right one more week and he is DONE! Done with one more semester! Sad thing is he goes back in two weeks for summer semester. I know I know school is depriving me of my husband. Me and school we are definitely a love hate relationship!
  • Andrew is a smarty pants!! He has worked SO hard this semester and it shows, because he will probably be getting a 3.9 this semester. Yeah that’s right proud wife right here!!
  •  Andy is still working full time at Thrive Life as a project manager and loving his job. I am so grateful for my hardworking husband
  • He is still pursuing medical school and even though it will be hard, I am here to support him 100% of the way in whatever he wants to do. But man choosing a degree is sooo hard, especially if it will consume the next 10 years of our lives. I truly have a testimony that hard decisions like these take  a lot of faith and prayers.

Us updates:

  • We have been married for 10 months!! I cannot believe it! Our one year anniversary is just around the corner (June 21st) and I am so excited!! Our love for each other has grown more and more each day. I am so excited for what our future has in store for us!
  • As for our home we are still living in our humble abode in Vineyard Utah and loving every minute (I still need to post pictures).
  • We are currently serving in callings as Sunday school teachers for ages 12-14. We LOVE it and we love our students! Andy and I often joke with each other that we like spending time at church with our students more than the adults. They are so fun and we learn so much from them, probably a lot more than they learn from us.
  • We recently bought our first car! We were so excited! It is a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder and its such a fun car. We cant wait to take it camping, to drive-in-movies and to have it when we start having little kids of our own (Not for awhile so don't get your panties in a wad).
Well that is it for now! There will definitely be more to come when school is finally over and the weather continues to get warmer! Gosh are you so excited for SUMMER? I know I am!

Happy Valentines's Day

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Valentine’s Day! What a great day to celebrate the love we have for all the wonderful people in our lives. For me this cute little holiday will always hold a special place in my heart, because this is the day my husband, and best friend, asked me to be his wife. I am so grateful that I said YES one year ago from today, which was the best decision I have ever made.  I can honestly say that I fall more and more in love with Andrew each day. I am truly so lucky to be able to call him mine. I know super mushy gushy but give me a break its Valentines Day!!

As for this year, it was our first Valentines being married and it was beyond everything I could ask for! Andy really knows how to make things special for me, and I am truly one lucky girl.

So a few weeks ago Andy informed me that he had plans for us on the night of Valentines Day and that it was a complete surprise.  The suspense of not knowing was killing me for so long and I was constantly trying to get as much information out of him as I could... but that boy wouldn’t budge and I got nothing!! So I, on the other hand, wanted to make things special for him too, so on the morning of Valentines I made him a big yummy breakfast! I made pink crepes with a cream cheese filling, topped with raspberry syrup and powdered sugar served with heart shaped bacon, eggs, strawberries, hot coco and orange juice.  It was so yummy and Andy was impressed!
The beautiful flowers Andy surprised me with! He knows me too well because I love tulips!
After breakfast we both headed off to work :( when 4:00pm came around I was ready to go and Andy picked me up.  When we got into the car I asked him what the plans were, and he let me know that we would be going to dinner at The Roof, and that he had got us tickets to the Ballet West performance of Cinderella at the Capital Theater. When he told me this, I was full of so much excitement I started crying!! I know I know I am such a girl!!
The Roof was amazing, yummy and romantic all at the same time; I would totally recommend going if you haven't been. It was both of our first time going there and we loved it!!  Its definitely a little pricey for our newlywed/student budget, but gosh Valentines only comes once a year, and its fun to treat yourself every now and then... I just don't think we'll be treating ourselves there again until we graduate haha
Anyways after dinner we walked to the Capitol Theater to watch the ballet performance. I was so excited!
(The only pictures we took in the theater is the one of us, the others I took from google.)

The ballet performance was seriously breathtaking! We both enjoyed it very much... okay maybe me more than Andy, but what a stud to buy tickets to a ballet performance because he knows how much I would love it. It was such a fun Valentines day and I didn't want the night to end!
p.s. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to everyone we know and love! We love you.

Our Very First Post:

We are starting a blog… well let me rephrase that, I’m starting a blog. Andy would never have anything to do with something so girly like this.  He is all boy and would rather spend his time looking up the latest news on ESPN, going to the gym with his buddies, enjoying the outdoors and giving me, his wife, endless back tickles! Okay maybe not the last one, but I only wish.

Anyways, I’m actually kind of excited to start this blog so I can update family and friends on our lives. Let’s only hope I can stay faithful to keeping it updated. As for now, Andy and I are enjoying our lives together as newlyweds and loving every minute of it.
